What does it mean to be a licensed REALTOR®?

A licensed realtor is a professional who is licensed by the state in which they operate to buy, sell, and rent properties on behalf of their clients. Realtors are members of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and adhere to a strict code of ethics. They have access to a multiple listing service (MLS), which allows them to view properties that are currently on the market and to market properties for sale or for rent to other realtors and their clients.
