Do I need a REALTOR®?

Are you required to use a real estate agent or an accredited REALTOR®? The simple answer is no. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use one.  In short, you don’t  need a REALTOR® to buy a house. You also don’t technically need a realtor to sell a house since there is an option to list a home For Sale by Owner (FSBO). That said, the advantages of using a realtor are plenty. Realtors have experienced insight into an area and know what questions to ask about a property and have strong networks of real estate professionals such as lenders, home inspectors, appraisers, and contractors.
